The Detroit Lions have opened training camp without Ndamukong Suh. The Lions practiced Saturday afternoon while team officials and Suh's agents, Eugene Parker and Roosevelt Barnes, worked on reaching a contract agreement. "I just got off the phone with those guys a minute ago," Lions president Tom Lewand said soon after practice started.

Oakland Raiders wide receiver Louis Murphy is being held out of training camp practice with a concussion. Murphy says he got hurt when he was kneed in the helmet by teammate Nnamdi Asomugha during practice Friday. He has a bad headache and missed practice Saturday. Coach Tom Cable says Murphy will not return until he passes a series of tests that shows he has recovered.

Hours after missing the first workout of training camp, first-round draft pick Joe Haden reached agreement with the Cleveland Browns. Haden, a cornerback out of Florida, was en route to Cleveland on Saturday after signing a five-year contract. His agent, Malik Shareef, said on his Twitter account that Haden had agreed to terms of a deal.

No. 1 overall draft pick Sam Bradford agreed to a six-year, $78 million contract with the St. Louis Rams on Friday night, with $50 million in guaranteed money. The Rams and the former Oklahoma quarterback concluded negotiations in time for the first full-squad workout set for Saturday. The guaranteed money is the highest ever in the NFL.
